We are very pleased to announce the introduction of Bulmer Leisure, a name that will encompass all of our present and future holiday parks. After more than 30 successful years of Silver Bay Holiday Park and an expansion to the North side of the island in Lligwy, we introduce a name that will uphold the values we want to protect the very most. Any Bulmer Leisure holiday park will be the perfect place for families, couples and friends to have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning scenery of Anglesey from the comfort of our luxury caravans and lodges.
Bulmer Leisure will continue to uphold the same values and family ethos we always have. Creating a real focus on cleaner, environmentally conscious parks and engaging with the local community through employment and partnerships. We have committed to reducing our carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. We are achieving this through improving our on-site practices, creating eco-friendly lodges, and working with our contractors to create a more sustainable supply chain.
Where did the name Bulmer Leisure come from?
You may recognise the name Bulmer from somewhere else. That’s because for three generations, our Holiday Parks have been privately owned by the famous cider making Bulmer family. Building on the Bodior Estate, once used as a family holiday retreat for the Bulmer family, Silver Bay was founded in the 1980’s.
Continuing to use the well known and respected family name, Bulmer Leisure will now encompass both Silver Bay and Woodland Falls holiday parks. Equally luxurious, stylish, comfortable, and the perfect setting to escape life for a while.
What does this mean for current owners?
This name change will not affect current or future holiday home owners. Bulmer Leisure will remain a privately owned family business, prioritising the needs of our holiday home owners.
The only difference you will find is a few name changes here and there. We can assure that your home away from home will remain the same peaceful escape as always.
We have a range of Halloween activities at both the Bulmer Holiday Parks waiting for you in Anglesey this October half term. We can’t wait to get spooky with you!

Silver Bay, Rynys Lligwy, will now be known as Woodland Falls Rynys Lligwy. Having taken ownership of the holiday park, formerly known as Rynys, and having spent time really understanding the strengths of the park, we feel that Woodland Falls perfectly summarises the beautiful woodland environment, together with the brook that’s synonymous with the location.
Current owners can expect the same high standards and experience from both Silver Bay and Woodland Falls holiday parks in the future, as they have in the past.

Anglesey has plenty of cycling routes to choose from, with a range of coastal, forest and mountain views.
So that you can continue to enjoy the stunning scenery of Anglesey in the winter months, we’ve put together some cycling routes more suited for the wetter weather. That way, when you inevitably get caught in the rain, it won’t ruin your cycle.
Parking / transport – Begins and ends at a car park
For a slightly more challenging route, we suggest this loop taking you around Anglesey past a river, through newborough forest, and along Traeth Llanddwyn beach. With it being easily accessible by car, this is a must try cycling route this winter.
Parking / transport – Begins and ends at a train station
Lastly, for the cycling pros who will go the extra mile for a spectacular view, this ones for you. This cycling loop will take you through some incredible mountain valleys, glacial features, and across the menai suspension bridge.

There’s also the Oaklands, our new leisure complex, offering owners another place to relax, socialise and keep fit. Kick back in the lounge bar with a coffee, tea or alcoholic drink, enjoy a game of pool in the games area or get active in the gymnasium and fitness studio.
As dog friendly holiday parks, we know the importance of having lots of pooch-pleasing activities lined up when you come to stay with us. So, as a matter of high importance, we’ve been out and about, finding great places for you to visit around Anglesey when you next stay with us. Take a look below at our six dog friendly adventures around Anglesey.
Silver Bay Beach
A short 5-minute walk along the private footpath and you’ve arrived at the beautiful sandy beach of Silver Bay. On a sunny day, it can feel like you’re simply strolling along the shores of a Greek Island.
This clean beach provides your four-legged friend ample running space and the calm waves in the icy blue clear water are ideal for a game of fetch. If you fancy a bit more of a challenge a right turn before you get to the beach will take you along a coastal path of grassy sand dunes and open out onto Rhoscolyn beach and further along, Treadurr Bay.
Woodland Falls, Lligwy: 42 minutes Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn: 5 minutes
The White Eagle
There’s no better place to unwind and relax with your pooch than the White Eagle, just a short drive from Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn. The friendly staff will immediately provide your dog with a drinking bowl and of course most importantly plenty of fuss, treats and cuddles. To quench your own thirst the pub is well known for serving real ales and has a fantastic selection of wines. Dogs are welcome inside in the snug and outside on their balcony area.
Woodland Falls, Lligwy: 38 minutes Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn: 6 minutes
The Menai Strait
Sites, seas and smells oh my! Just beyond the shores of Beaumaris is a small island known as Puffin Island. A guided dog-friendly boat trip with Seacoast Safaris will show you the best of the Menai strait with a trip up to the island. Its rocky face inhabits an array of birds like puffins, shags and kittiwakes; and the shores themselves are home to seals, dolphins and porpoises.
Woodland Falls, Lligwy: 25 minutes Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn: 42 minutes
Red Wharf Bay
A hotspot for water sports lovers Red Wharf Bay, bordered by salt marshes and sand dunes is a great spot for a dog-friendly walk along the east coast of the island. There are no restrictions on this beach and so your dog is free to explore and chase all of the seagulls that frequent this beautiful shore. After exploring the huge expanse of sand, a pit stop at The Boat House for some refreshment is a must.
Woodland Falls, Lligwy: 11 minutes Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn: 43 minutes
Treaddur Bay
A well-facilitated beach surrounded by rockpools Treadurr Bay is a must-visit for a dog-friendly day on Anglesey. Its located just a couple of miles from Rhoscolyn and is renowned for being one of Anglesey’s best beaches. Whilst dogs are permitted all year long, there are some restrictions to the eastern side of the beach that are well signposted. This doesn’t stop your dog from making the most of the curved slopes of sand enveloping the crystal clear waters. At low tide, there is plenty of running space and at high tide, just a few paw prints in the sand and you’re in the calm water. Along the promenade, you’ll find plenty of amenities, for ultimate comfort we’d recommend taking advantage of the outdoor sofas at Oceans Edge restaurant or for something a little bit more beachy the dog-friendly Sea Shanty café. On hot days there is also sure to be an ice cream van, an ice cream for you and your dog is the perfect rest bite after a day in the sun.
Woodland Falls, Lligwy: 36 minutes Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn: 13 minutes
Rhosneigr
If you’re up for being in the heart of a surfers village Rhosneigr is the perfect day trip destination, ideal for water sport enthusiasts and water-loving pooches. Once you’ve finished paddleboarding with your four-legged friends or taking advantage of the numerous shops available in the village, there are plenty of places to catch a bite to eat. With their own resident pooch, Reggie to welcome you, Café Notos is the perfect beach café with a real nautical atmosphere. For an evening meal, Sandy Mount House takes on contemporary beach house style with an added luxurious feel in both their restaurant and bar area. Their well-thought-out and dog-friendly tapas menu mean your pampered pooch doesn’t feel like they’re missing out on all the delicious food.

50-Year Licence
One of the greatest benefits to owning one of our Luxury Eco-Friendly Lodges at Lligwy is the longevity of the licence. Unlike most other holiday parks, we offer a a 50 year licence on all new lodge plots. This gives you both greater value for money in the time you have ownership of your property, and also affords you a greater sell-on value compared, should you wish to sell your holiday home at a later date.
Eco-Friendly and Sustainable
We’re proud to lead the way in offering a more sustainable holiday home experience with our Luxury Eco-Friendly Lodges. Among some of the first in the UK, our lodges offer a more sustainable way of living, with solar panels and water pump technology; whilst not scrimping on the luxurious comfort you’d expect from the Bulmer’s Holiday Park experience. In the current financial climate, our eco-friendly technology provides a more sustainable running cost for our holiday homes.
Our aims go beyond the lodge offering, with targets of reducing our carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. Learn more about our sustainability goals and projects.
Our Eco-Friendly Lodges come fitted with solar panels
Fully Furnished Holiday Homes
Another benefit to our Luxury Eco-Friendly Lodges is that they are furnished and ready for you to move into. Our contemporary furnishings offer you the perfect home away from home, without the hassle from the moment you sign on a property.
An example of the open plan, fully furnished lounge-diner-kitchen space in one of our Eco-Friendly Lodges.
Woodland Falls Facilities
There’s plenty more to Woodland Falls Holiday Park Lligwy than just our Luxury Eco-Friendly Lodges. Our site has a fantastic new Leisure facility for residents to enjoy during their stays. Why not grab a coffee or alcoholic beverage with friends or family at The Oaklands, play a game of pool in the games room or get active in the gymnasium or fitness studio?
Our wonderful island of Anglesey is bursting with exciting experiences for visitors and owners at our parks. With over 130km of coastline, the water around the island has long been the playground of North Walians. And no area more so than the Menai Strait. The 16-mile stretch of water separating Anglesey from the mainland is brimming with exciting excursions and lined with beautiful places to visit.
So, to help you try something new and thrilling next time you stay with us, we’ve put together a number of recommendations along the Strait.
By Sea
One of the best ways to experience the Strait is by boat, with lots of trips available. RibRide is one such provider, offering speedy trips along the Strait, showing you all the sights, including the bridges, directed by knowledgeable guides.
Phil Scott owner of RibRide on their service: “We’ve been operating for 16 years and the experience has never become any less exciting. Due to the unique landscape, the history, stunning wildlife and having one of the highest tidal ranges in Britain, the experience is slightly different every year.
“Customers regularly feedback a number of things once their ride has finished; usually expressing their love of the wildlife on show, their excitement of the RibRide experience and their fascination with the stories and history we offer on the region and the two bridges during the trip.” If you’re interested in their experiences, click HERE.
For those of you who like to get in the water, you may be interested in Plas Menai – The National Outdoor Centre. Situated on the mainland shore, close to Caernarfon, the amazing activity hub offers a huge range of experiences to get involved in. From Kayaking to paddle boarding, windsurfing to sailing and much more. Learn more HERE. Note – The centre is currently closed for a major refurbishment until April, but activities can be pre-book for its reopening.
If you’d like to enjoy the Strait at a more gentle pace, then there’s plenty of other boat trip options, such as Seacoast Safaris. Setting sail from Beaumaris, on Anglesey’s south eastern point, this brilliant boat trip explores the wildlife of the region.
As well as taking in the beauty of the Menai Strait, you can experience grey seals, the Puffins of Puffin Island, dolphins and plenty more. Full details can be found HERE.
Puffins off the coast of Anglesey
By Land
If you wish to experience the region without climbing aboard any boats, there’s plenty to do along the coast. Beaumaris itself is a beautiful town, featuring both a castle and a historic prison, Beaumaris Gaol. If you’re looking for more history but somewhere slightly bigger to explore, then there’s the cathedral city of Bangor on the mainland coast too.
Further west along the Strait there’s the stunning National Trust site of Plas Newydd House & Gardens as well as the Anglesey Sea Zoo. All in all, the Menai Strait offers more brilliant experiences for all the family to enjoy than you can shake a stick at.
So, next time you visit us at either of our sites, remember that the travel time to the Strait and it’s crossings is just a 30 minute drive from Rhoscolyn and a little over 20 minutes from Lligwy.
