Best Pubs in Moelfre
Despite its small size, the village of Moelfre is a popular tourist destination. It is famous for its beautiful beaches and archaeological history, with evidence having been found of Roman and neolithic settlements in the area in the ancient past.
However, it is the modern day settlement that we are most interested in here as we provide you with a complete list of the best pubs in Moelfre to visit the next time you are staying in your holiday home at Woodland Falls.
Woodland Falls is located roughly 2 miles away from the village centre, a perfect walking distance on a sunny summer’s day if you are looking to treat yourselves to a refreshing drink. Let’s start off with what is actually the only wholly traditional pub in Moelfre…
The Kinmel Arms (Moelfre)
With panoramic views overlooking Moelfre Bay, the Kinmel Arms is the only remaining truly traditional pub in Moelfre. Here you can enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including real ales from the Robinson Brewery collection. You’ll be able to treat yourself to a pint of the citrusy Hopnik Citra IPA or the extra strong Old Tom ale which dates back to 1899.
You can enjoy your drinks inside this nautically themed pub which features various shipping lanterns, anchors and steering wheels across its walls. Alternatively, you can take your drinks to the outdoor beer garden which affords exceptional views overlooking Moelfre’s shingle beach.
Efforts have been made to bring the Kinmel Arms up to date, with guests now provided with WiFi internet access. The pub now also offers a varied menu of gastropub classics such as fish & chips, scampi and gammon. A lunchtime menu of light bites and sandwiches is also available at a reasonable price.
An Accidental Pub in Moelfre
While there aren’t any other pubs in Moelfre to take into consideration, there are a number of exceptional cafes that you may wish to frequent. This includes Ann’s Pantry which is also located just across the road from Moelfre beach.
Here you can choose from a conventional roster of cafe classics made up of coffees, teas, cakes and sandwiches. However, Ann’s Pantry has also branched out to offer a wider selection than what it was traditionally intended to provide. This includes a selection of alcoholic beverages made up of beers, wines and spirits. You could therefore say that Ann’s Pantry has accidentally become one of the best pubs in Moelfre as it has gradually expanded its range of services.
Pubs Elsewhere Near Moelfre
There are plenty of other pubs near Moelfre that are worth a visit the next time you are staying at Woodland Falls. This includes the Beachcomber Bar & Grill which is situated on the main road running through Benllech, just a short distance from the village beach. The pub is famous for its sensational food which includes tapas menu items, chargrilled meats and vegetarian options, all of which are made freshly on-site. The alcoholic beverages are equally as wide ranging, with particular focus being given to their gin selection.
The Kinmel Arms is not the only Robinsons Brewery pub near Moelfre. Another is The Benllech in, you guessed it, Benllech. You can enjoy the same range of alcoholic beverages here in addition to a selection of meal options on a slightly more wide ranging menu. This includes their sensationally big sandwiches and ciabattas.
However, the atmosphere at The Benllech is noticeably different from that at The Kinmel Arms. Here the relaxing family vibe is replaced with that of a traditional sports bar, with guests given the opportunity to enjoy games of darts and snooker.
It really is down to personal preference when it comes to choosing which of the cafes and pubs near Moelfre is best for you. Irrespective of which option you choose, Moelfre is a must visit village the next time you are in the region.
