Introducing Our Luxury North Wales Eco Lodges

Introducing Our Luxury North Wales Eco Lodges

Posted: 11th June, 2021

Over the past few years, the environment has become an increasingly common topic of discussion. The combination of ever increasing energy prices and fears regarding the overuse of fossil fuels to generate power has led more people to look for ecologically sustainable alternatives to conventional energy sources.

Here at Bulmer Leisure, we are constantly striving to improve the environmental credentials of our Anglesey holiday parks as part of our mission to reduce our carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. The latest step in this journey is the introduction of our eco-friendly lodges, with Woodland Falls having become the first UK holiday park to offer eco friendly lodges in 2021. These holiday homes are now also available at Silver Bay Holiday Park after a successful roll out at Woodland Falls.

Read on to learn more about our North Wales eco lodges and discover why these future proof holiday homes are setting owners up for a happier future.

How Do Our Eco Friendly Lodges Work?

All of our eco lodges feature the latest in solar panel technology. These solar panels are fitted to the area of the roof which gets the most sunlight throughout the day. The panels absorb the natural light from the sun and then convert it into electricity which contributes towards powering the lodge and heating up the water tank.

One common misconception we often hear about solar panels is that they only work properly if they are exposed to long periods of uninterrupted sunshine. We can confirm that this simply isn’t true, as even on a cloudy day the solar panels are likely to generate more than enough energy by themselves to produce electricity and hot water for all guests staying in the eco lodge.

Our eco lodges also utilise heat pump technology to provide hot water for guests and power the heating system. Heat pumps work by transferring heat from the outside air and ground into the internal system where it causes the refrigerant liquid to evaporate and turn into gas. This gas is then moved through a compressor which increases pressure and hence causes the temperatures to rise.

The combined effect of both of these technologies can help to radically reduce a holiday home owner’s reliance on conventional energy supplies to heat and power their lodge. This not only saves holiday home owners money, but also reduces their dependence on conventional energy supplies which are generated using fossil fuels.

Are Eco Holiday Lodges a Good Investment?

Solar panels and heat pumps can help to reduce carbon emissions by up to 73%, equating to a saving of up to 511 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. This goes some way towards easing your environmental conscience.

In addition to their environmental credentials, the combination of these two technologies will also help to reduce electricity bills as you will be utilising the free energy supplied by the heat pump & solar panels. This means that you won’t need to worry too much about how much energy you are using while you are away.

There also aren’t any notable drawbacks to think about, solar panels and heat pumps creating very little noise pollution. That means that you can enjoy cheaper energy bills without having to face any of the annoying buzzing noises which are commonly associated with traditional holiday home generators.

Another area where you stand to make a saving with these North Wales eco lodges is through their longevity. All of our eco lodges have been designed using modern manufacturing techniques and the latest high-tech materials. This ensures that they will stand the tests of time and provide you with a platform from which to enjoy many decades of happy lodge holidays on Anglesey. In fact, we are so confident about the quality of our new eco lodges that they all come with a 50 year licence at our holiday parks.

Control At Your Fingertips

Another nifty feature which is worth noting about these eco lodges is that holiday home owners will be able to control the heating system remotely using an app on their mobile phones.

That means that you will be able to switch on the heating in your eco lodge prior to travelling, ensuring that it will be warm and cosy by the time that you arrive.
