Silver Bay: “Tell us about your career journey with interior design, Laura…”

Interior design has always been my passion; from a young age, I have had an eye for design detail and have had experience working alongside one of the leading show home and commercial interior design companies in the UK. After gaining an extensive understanding and knowledge of the profession, I decided to start my own company. I have always had huge amount of satisfaction in my occupation, although working for myself has taken it to a whole new level.

Silver Bay: “Which styles and influences do you draw inspiration from?”

English Country, contemporary, and manor house styling are my personal favourites. Although dependant on the project at hand, it would depend on which style I would draw my influences from.

Silver Bay: “How did you tackle Silver Bay’s brief for the bar and bistro refurbishment?”

Silver Bay gave a brief outline for both phases of the development, I then went and researched the surrounding area, the local history and spoke with owners on the park as to their expectations and requirements for the new facility.

Silver Bay: “How did you create a design that would fit the lifestyle of Silver Bay residents?”

The design needed to reflect the aspirations of the park owners, matching their expectations and putting Silver Bay on the map meeting and exceeding other UK luxury holiday parks.

Silver Bay: “How did Silver Bay’s ethos influence your design?”

Silver Bay’s ethos has been upheld with my new design, concentrating on a love of the countryside and the ancient history of Anglesey and the Farmhouse itself, opening a new chapter in its long life.

Silver Bay: “Tell us what Silver Bay residents can expect from the new design?”

A comfortable place to meet and eat with friends and family whilst enjoying the pleasant, coastal surroundings of Silver Bay.

Silver Bay: “Do you have a signature touch with your designs?”

I will say animals as they always manage to put in an appearance somewhere!

Silver Bay: “What  textures and furniture pieces do you love the most about the new bar and bistro design?”

The wallpaper textures have added a 3-dimensional feel to the walls upstairs whilst the book wallpaper downstairs has given the feeling of a relaxed peaceful area tucked away from the bar. The neutral colour scheme makes for a relaxing feel in all areas, as far as furniture goes, I love the high back chairs in the inglenook fireplace downstairs, along with the numerous carefully chosen ornaments.

Silver Bay: “What do you love about being a designer?”

From brief to completion,  it’s been great witnessing Silver Bay’s reaction to seeing their thoughts and aspirations brought to life with my interpretation of their requirements… my ultimate satisfaction is their favourable response to the design!

Silver Bay: “Describe your style in three words…”

Eclectic, Individual and bespoke.

Silver Bay: “What should we expect from LC Interiors in the future?”

I will endeavour to create and deliver one-off designs for any task I am given, I love to explore and discover new, innovative ways to enhance any building that needs to strengthen its identity.

Silver Bay: “Do you have any hot tips for interior design trends in 2016 and beyond?”

2016 will see the use of outside materials, inside, such as wood, stone, brick or pebbles, whether in the form of textured wallpapers or the real thing!

Thank you for taking the time to discuss your interior design expertise with us, Laura! We’re absolutely thrilled with the end result and we’re sure our residents will be more than impressed with their new space.
