What to do in Anglesey this summer

Anglesey Sea Zoo
Whilst we would love to promise constant sun on Anglesey, it’s the UK so rain’s inevitable. The Anglesey Sea Zoo is the perfect indoor activity that will keep the kids entertained for an afternoon. Children under 3 go free!
You will learn about the amazing array of marine wildlife in the waters surrounding our wonderful coastline.

Rib Ride
Speaking of the coast, if you fancy getting outside and a closer look at the incredible Anglesey coastline, then sign up for a boat trip with RibRide!

Places to visit
Plas Newydd House and Garden
If exploring a beautifully maintained 19th century home and gardens is your bag, Plas Newydd House and Gardens is the place for you.
The ‘enchanting mansion and gardens’ sit on the bank of the Menai Strait, offering stunning views of the coast and the looming peaks of Snowdonia. There is also a woodland play area for the kids, making this a great day out for the family.

Beaumaris town
Beaumaris is a lovely small town on the East coast of Anglesey. It is renowned for its picturesque setting and rich history, including an impressive medieval castle giving a glimpse into the turbulent history of Wales.
Beaumaris also boasts a vibrant waterfront area, filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. You can even take boat trips to Menai Strait, typically 1-2 hours, where you can admire the natural beauty of the strait, pass under iconic bridges such as the Menai Suspension Bridge and the Britannia Bridge.
Hidden Gardens in Plas Cadnant
These hidden gardens are one of North Wales best kept secrets. Since 1996 the gardens at Plas Cadnant Estate have seen a look of restoration, transforming them back to their former glory. These beautiful gardens are definitely worth a visit on your next trip to Anglesey.

South Stack Lighthouse
Another great way to experience the history of the North Walian Coast is by visiting South Stack Lighthouse. Standing since 1809 and built on South Stack Rock, a tiny islet at the most westerly point off the coast of Holyhead, the lighthouse can be reached by a footbridge, making for a dramatic approach!
