We are incredibly fortunate to have what is arguably the best beach in North Wales for families right on the doorstep of Silver Bay Holiday Park.
Here our owners can enjoy having private access to this stunning beach which has recently picked up the Green Coast Award. Otherwise known as Traeth Llydan, this accolade means that Silver Bay beach has officially been recognised as being one of the cleanest beaches in the country. You can therefore relax and let your children make the most of the safe, clean and quiet family paradise.
Another member of the family who will relish visits to Silver Bay beach is your pooch, with dogs warmly welcomed to join in with the seaside frolics.
2. Lligwy Beach
It isn’t just the holiday home owners at Silver Bay who have a nearby Anglesey beach to take advantage of. Our Woodland Falls Holiday Park is just a 10 minute walk away from Lligwy Beach which was recently named the best beach in the whole of the UK by The Sunday Times.
Other accolades received by Lligwy Beach include the Green and Blue Coast Awards, the latter of which recognises beaches with high water quality standards. It has also received the coveted seaside award every year since 2004, adding further credence to the beach cleanliness and water quality. You can therefore let the kids paddle to their heart’s content.
During the summer months you can also make use of the Lligwy Beach Cafe which serves a wide selection of refreshing beverages and tasty treats including their exceptional wood fired pizzas. You can follow that up with an ice cream, with the cafe stocking the popular Marshfield Farm variety of products.
3. Barmouth Beach
Barmouth is one of the most popular seaside towns in Snowdonia National Park with its soft sandy beach and frequent large waves which make it a hotbed for surfing enthusiasts. Whatsmore, the water quality here is rated as “excellent”, making it ideal for paddling or wild swimming.
During peak season, the coastal region really comes alive and becomes the kind of traditional seaside destination that you would imagine from your own childhood. With donkey rides, amusement arcades and fairground rides, it is a paradise for children and desperate parents look for ways to keep their offspring entertained.
This is perhaps the only drawback of Barmouth Beach, with its high popularity often resulting in overcrowding whenever the weather is agreeable.
4. Black Rock Sands
Another hugely popular seaside holiday destination in North Wales is Black Rock Sands. Unusually, you can drive your car directly onto the beach for parking which costs a rather high £8 for the day. Black Rock Sands is another high profile destination which can get busy during peak periods. This includes with watersport enthusiasts who enjoy having their vehicles close by so that they can transport the heaviest of their equipment easily to the sea.
Another unusual trait of the beach are the sand dunes which have been designated a ‘Site of Scientific Interest’ due to the eclectic variety of wildlife here. There are also a series of caves at the resort which can be explored during a low tide. The surrounding rock pools are home to various forms of sea life and are sure to be of interest to curious young minds.
