What’s Coming Up
Here’s just a few exciting things we’ve got coming up across our parks this May as we make the most of the Bank Holidays and upcoming half term.
Welcome back to Silver Bay, what a year it has been! Now it’s time to relax, unwind and breathe in that fresh Anglesey air. Did you know that Silver Bay offers relaxation for the whole family? While the adults are enjoying a rejuvenating trip to the spa, the children can have fun with our Busy Bayers Children’s Activities. This offers a wide range of entertainment for the little ones during the school holidays from indoor creativity to outdoor adventures, there’s something for every child!
If you’re looking for a more buzzing activity, look no further than “Meet the Bees”. Yes, the bees are back from their sheltered winter quarters and are raring to get back the flowers at Silver Bay to produce that delicious organic honey. Make sure you come along to one of the “Meet the Bees” activities to find out how they’re doing!
Wondering what you can expect from “Meet the Bees”? A trip to the Bee Hotel is a guaranteed unique and unbeelievable experience. You can expect to be provided with specialist beekeeping protection, gain knowledge from expert beekeeper Johnathan Garratt and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with those furry, little friends. On those extra sunny days you can keep an eye for those honeybees – these bees will be working extra hard to collect resources for the colony. Pro-tip: stand close to the brightest flowers and you’ll see the bees collecting the sweet nectar.
While lockdown took over the world, there has been no rest for the beekeepers who have been working extra hard to make sure that the colony has been kept safe. Find out more information from beekeeper Johnathan about what you can do to help protect the bees.
The “Meet the Bees” sessions are extremely popular with the Busy Bayers. To learn more about Children’s activities and Busy Bayers click here.
Easter is a wonderful time of year at Silver Bay, and although this year we may have to do things a little differently, we’ve worked hard to ensure you can still celebrate the holiday with lots of fun activities to keep the whole family occupied. It is important now more than ever that we come together and maintain the strong community that we pride ourselves on at Silver Bay, and continue to make a lifetime of treasured memories. Keep reading to see all of the fun activities we will be bringing you over the next 2 weeks!
Virtual Easter Egg Hunt
Every year we put on a fun Easter Egg Hunt around the holiday park, it’s an activity that everybody looks forward to. We couldn’t go a year without it, so we’re going to be running a VIRTUAL Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday! The game is simple, we will be hiding eggs on multiple different pages of our website, and the aim is for you to find as many of the eggs as possible! We will provide a form for you to fill out with links to the pages where you have found the eggs. Find them all to be named a Busy Bayer champion!
Egg Decorating Competition
Arts and crafts is a fun and popular activity amongst our Busy Bayers, and we want to ensure we continue to provide these activities! We are going to be holding an egg decorating competition, a chance for you to get creative with your family and show off your decorating skills. To take part in this activity, you will need a hard boiled egg and any materials of your choice to decorate it (the more creative the better!). We will be announcing this on our Facebook later in the week so you can share your creations in the comments of the post. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
How well do you know Anglesey? Put your Anglesey knowledge to the test in a fun quiz that we will be doing over on our Instagram next week. Compete against friends and families to see who knows Anglesey the best! Make sure to keep an eye on our Instagram for this fun, family activity.
A Lifetime of Treasured Memories
Silver Bay is all about treasured memories, from bbq’s at the beach to parties at The Deckhouse. We’re encouraging all owners, past and present, to share their favourite memories and photos from over the years. We are going to be creating a memory wall on Facebook with all of the photos that have been sent to us, giving you the opportunity to look back at all of the fun times that have been had at Silver Bay. If you would like to send us some photos, please do so over on our Facebook. We can’t wait to see all of the old memories!
Another way in which we are encouraging our Busy Bayers to keep creative is with a fun photo challenge! Starting from next week (W/C 13th April), we will be posting some photo challenges for the children to get involved with. This will include things such as building structures out of any materials you can find and taking a photo of it to share with us. This is a fun and easy activity that is sure to keep the Busy Bayers, well, busy! Keep an eye out on our Facebook each day to see the new challenges, we will be sharing some of our favourites at the end of the week.
What better way to spend time indoors than baking! Over the next two weeks, we will be sharing some of our favourite Easter baking recipes on our Facebook account for you to try out at home. This is something fun for the whole family to get involved with, and you can even make it a competition to see which member of your family can decorate the best! We would love to see what you make, please share any photos with us over on our Facebook!
Colouring in is a really fun and easy activity for the children to do, to keep busy and keep creative! We have created some very special Silver Bay colouring activities, these are free to download and include activities such as, dot to dot, colouring in and a very special game called The Easter Bunny Hop – Find your way to Silver Bay, a snakes and ladders style of game based around Silver Bay! We would love to see photos of your drawings, make sure to send them to us over on our Facebook. Click the links below to download to print the sheets.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Silver Bay owners, friends & families, who work for the NHS, working tirelessly to keep our country going.
Please go to our Facebook page to nominate any friends & family, who’ll automatically be entered into a competition to win a week’s holiday at Silver Bay. Simply tag them into the post and tell us why they deserve to win the break.
Here’s the link. We’ll randomly pick a winner every two weeks for the next 8 weeks.
Although celebrating Easter may be a little different this year, we have worked hard to try and make it as fun as possible with a range of different activities for the Busy Bayers and the adults! A defibrillator is a potentially life saving piece of equipment and can increase the chance of survival of sudden cardiac arrest by up to 90% if treatment is provided within one minute. Having a unit on site makes our schools and nurseries a safer place, not only for the children, their teachers, assistants, and other school staff, but also for parents and grandparents dropping and collecting their children.

Preparing Your Holiday Home for Winter
It’s important to follow the below steps when leaving your holiday home unoccupied over winter. Here are our top tips:
Secure all outdoor furniture, including bunkers and sheds, to prevent damage in high winds
Ensure you have emptied all fridge/freezers, cupboards and bird feeders of food
Stand all seat cushions on end to allow air to circulate
Make sure all fixed ventilation is not obstructed and wardrobes and internal doors are left open
Check all windows and external doors are tightly closed, including skylights
Check you have securely locked your holiday home
Lodge owners may wish to leave their boilers on frost stat to prevent frost damage
Caravan owners may wish to drain their water system to prevent frost damage to pipes. We offer a drain down service to all caravan owners at Silver Bay so if you require a drain down, please contact Owner Services on 01407 860860 or firstname.lastname@example.org (this may be compulsory with some insurance policies – make sure to check your caravan insurance requirements). To reconnect your caravan we require at least five days notice so please give us plenty of notice when you wish to return.

Festive fun for the Busy Bayers
We’ll be starting our Christmas activities on Friday 30th November with a Christmas film at 7pm; make sure to wear your pyjamas or onesie! On Saturday 1st December we’re welcoming back Wispy Willow Creations to show you how to make Christmas stars and trees. Once you’ve finished your willow creation it’s time to get ready for our Christmas party! Busy Bayers will be open from 5pm for face painting, tattoos, nail painting and yummy treats to decorate.
Then on Sunday 2nd December we’ll be making Christmas cards and sewing Christmas stockings ready for Santa’s arrival.
We’ll be taking a little break after then so our elves have time to get everything ready for Christmas and New Year’s Eve; the Christmas activities will start back up again on Friday 28th December with Cooking Skills and Busy Bakers followed by some Frozen themed activities on Saturday 29th.
We have all sorts planned on Sunday 30th including Cake Pops, Lego Masters and Snow Dough. And that takes us to the big event, New Year’s Eve! We’ll be starting the day with New Year Calendars, Cross Stitch and New Year treats; Busy Bayers will then be open from 5pm for face painting, tattoos and nail painting before we begin the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
We’ll be taking a little rest on the 1st but then you can join us again on the 2nd for Mother and Toddler Ballet, Melody Mover’s Dance and Arts & Crafts.
Make sure to book your sessions in advance through our online booking system and check the age guidelines for each session before booking.
